THIS TOILET CAN FLUSH WITH THE BEST OF THEM. We also have a TOTO toilet, and it flushes just as good as that toilet. We even went out and bought the thickest toilet paper we could find and used that in flushing tests and the Kohler did the job with no problem at all. Polished, clean lookBy SandyWI purchased this to use in an existing shower as an update. I wanted to match new faucets, though I purchased Kohler Taboret faucets first. I did not like the Taboret trim for the shower with the plastic around it and exposed mounting screws, and chose this Purist one that had a similar handle. It is clean and I love the handle. When it was installed we noticed that the sleeve (cylindrical) just under where the handle is attached is free to slide a little, so that part seemed odd though you don't notice if you keep the sleeve as close to the handle as possible, leaving no gap. The way it is attached to the valve is very nice with no exposed screws on the outside which is very clean and nice looking. I am very happy with this valve trim in polished chrome, and it works just as it should. If you look at it (photos) in the other finishes that are not polished, and not the polished chrome which is so reflective in the photos, you can see it more for what it actually is. The reflections on the polished surface in the photos give illusions of things in the chrome that are actually not there, otherwise. Kohler customer service and two stores (one internet, another storefront) told me the shipment and price included the apron. One stated that including the "L" or "R" designation would assure the apron inclusion. A second call to Kohler firstly provided the same information, but was corrected during the conversation to exclude the apron.Clearly, Kohler needs a better designation (for all concerned).Here's the reality for now . . .Model 1127 does not include an apron, and is a drop-in. 1127-R and 1127-L designations provide the drain end (as one looks into the alcove). These two models do not have aprons; the L and R refer to the existence of a flange on three sides. I really feel like I have moved up about 10 notches with the purchase of the Kohler.Unlike the Clavinova, the "grand" sounds like a grand. Even in the highest octave, it does not sound tinny. The other instrumental sounds sound like real instruments whereas the Clav sounded "electronic."The polyphony is excellent, and more than adequate to sate any musician's appetite.The keys and hammer action are weighted. The Kohler feels perfectly natural and as realistic as any acoustic. (Hooray!!).Everything can be adjusted which is very satisfying, as the velocity senstivity can sometimes make the instumental sound become a bit harsh rather than louder, as velocity would on an acoustic.Finally there is the speaker system. It is wonderful. The Clav was disappointing in this regard. It sounded as if it used hand-me-down speakers from a 1990 boom-box. The only time the Clav ever sounded good to me was when I wore headphones. The Kohler, on the other hand, is a pleasure to listen to, as it incorporates a high-end stereo speaker system. I love it. Elegant, functional and it fits!By Michael A. ShoemakerFirst, I have previously reviewed an excellent Grohe kitchen faucet and would still recommend this faucet highly. The reason for replacing it with this equally excellent Kohler relates to how the unit fits given a change that we have made while remodeling the kitchen. In doing the remodel we are replacing an existing ceramic tile backsplash with granite. Critically, the granite backsplash is deeper and therefore intrudes on the top of the granite countertop further than the old tile backsplash did. The operating lever on the Grohe is longer and positioned in the center of the faucet, so when you pushd the lever back to get hot water, it would touch the tile at the full hot setting. With the granite being deeper, this lever would not be able to go to full hot because the granite would block the lever! Not a good thing!The Kohler eliminates this problem in two ways: First, the lever is shorter and therefore pushing it towards the rear does not extend the lever as far back and second, the valve and handle are towards the front of the faucet rather than centered with it. This faucet is definitely a conversation starter and everyone who sees it wants to try it. We are very pleased with it so far. It is VERY solidly made so don't worry about moving it around and manipulating it as it can handle it with ease. Also, the water stream is very very good so don't think the design of the faucet limits the power of the water coming out as it is just as powerful, if not more powerful, than any other kitchen faucet out there. From both a form and functionality standpoint we are VERY pleased with this Kohler Karbon faucet. One interesting thing to not is that the hole which needs to be drilled for the handle is a lot bigger than the hold that needs to be drilled for the faucet. Just something to be aware of as it is a little unique to this faucet design. We saved several hundred dollars by ordering this faucet through Amazon. We looked at this faucet in person at a retail store and it was almost $1200 with tax.
